  1. Increase professional development opportunities and access to opportunities for clinical research professionals.  Programs must be:
    • Supported
    • Minimal cost
    • Accessible
    • Relevant
    • Time Efficient
  • Conduct an environmental scan on current training opportunities within BC. Develop plan to address the gaps.
  • Collaborate with organizations such as N2 and Rx&D to work towards achieving a nationally accepted GCP training certificate.
  • Explore and work to resolve the impediments to securing professional development time.
  • Develop and implement a web based platform to serve as a resource centre and delivery mechanism for professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to utilize social media to keep subscribers informed, e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter account.
  • Annual BCCRIN Conference to provide local training opportunity and showcase BC expertise. Celebrate successes.

  1. Implement a mentorship program for clinical research professionals to foster career development.
  • Conduct an assessment of current mentorship programs including WITS, MHI, ECRIN / UK
  • Develop plan for implementation in BC. Identifying potential mentors, establishing criteria etc. Help new research team members learn how to navigate the complex and confusing clinical research landscape e.g. first 100 days training programs.
  • Develop role profiles for key clinical research team members; specify minimum qualifications and recommended training path e.g. Clinical Research Coordinator, Principal Investigator, Project Manager.
